Social Backwardness

Regarding social backwardness, different perspectives view the issues of tribals differently. Just as the problems vary, so does their culture. Social, cultural, and geographical isolation is their main issue. The lack of leadership to address these problems has historically existed in the tribal community. Some tribal leaders have made efforts through their unique abilities to raise awareness about identity, integrity, and rights. However, there hasn’t been much success. As a result, educated tribals are gradually becoming aware of these challenges.

As part of this, Adilok magazine was launched in 2008. Before and after Adilok, many tribal magazines have emerged, some of which have ceased. However, for the past 16 years, Adilok has continued uninterrupted.

  • The M.S. University, Vadodara, and Hemchandracharya University have documented Adilok in their materials.
  • It is the only tribal institution that has maintained consistent documentation for 16 years.
  • Adilok has been recorded in many newspapers and books as a historically significant publication.
  • It is the only tribal magazine in Gujarat that has been approved by the university grants commission. Currently, efforts are being made to renew this approval.
  • The Gujarat State Central Library sponsors over 1106 public libraries and cultural centers.

Publication

  • Both offline and online publications are available.
  • It is published bi-monthly.
